Dr. Kamaljit Singh Pannu is a distinguished ophthalmologist who completed his MBBS and MS in Ophthalmology from the prestigious Christian Medical College (CMC), Ludhiana, in 1997. Early in his career, he gained valuable experience at Sohana Eye Hospital in Mohali, before moving to an American hospital in Bhairahawa, Nepal. There, he worked alongside a team of dedicated doctors, performing high-volume surgeries and delivering quality eye care to hundreds of patients.
He further honed his surgical expertise through a fellowship at the renowned Dr. Agarwal’s Eye Hospital in Chennai, where he trained under the legendary Dr. Amar Agarwal, a pioneer of phacoemulsification in India. In April 1999, Dr. Pannu began his private practice in Ropar, Punjab, alongside his wife Dr. Ravinder Kaur Pannu, a gynecologist. By 2006, the couple had established a state-of-the-art modern hospital in the city. Dr. Pannu was a trailblazer in the region, introducing advanced techniques such as phacoemulsification, foldable lenses, aspheric, multifocal, and toric intraocular lenses. In 2011, he became the first to perform LASIK laser surgery in Ropar.
Beyond clinical excellence, Dr. Pannu is deeply committed to social responsibility. He has conducted hundreds of free eye camps across Punjab and Himachal Pradesh, providing sight-restoring surgeries to underserved communities and fighting preventable blindness.
