Specialized Investigations

Some eye problems hide deep beneath the surface and you won’t always feel them. That’s why we don’t rely on guesswork. We use advanced tools to get a clear picture of what’s really going on inside the eye. These investigations help us catch problems early, track changes over time, and plan treatments that are precise, not vague. Whether you’re dealing with glaucoma, diabetes, sudden vision changes, or an old issue that’s never been fully explained, these tests give us the answers.

Who Needs These Tests?

You don’t need to be a surgery patient to need specialized investigations. These tests are often suggested for:

  • People with diabetes or high blood pressure
  • Those with a family history of glaucoma or vision loss
  • Patients experiencing flashes, floaters, or sudden blurring
  • Children with unclear vision problems
  • Anyone preparing for advanced treatments like LASIK or cataract surgery

What We Offer

Here are some of the specialized eye investigations we offer:

  • OCT (Optical Coherence Tomography)
Think of it like an MRI for your eye. OCT lets us see the layers of your retina and optic nerve in great detail, essential for glaucoma, diabetic eye disease, and macular problems.
  • Fundus Photography
A high-resolution photo of the back of your eye. It helps us document your retina over time and track any changes clearly.
  • Visual Field Testing
This shows how well you can see in your peripheral (side) vision, crucial for detecting early glaucoma or nerve damage.
  • FFA (Fundus Fluorescein Angiography)
A dye-based test that shows how blood flows through the retina. We use it to detect blockages, leaks, or swelling in diabetic or hypertensive patients.
  • B-Scan Ultrasonography
When the front of the eye is cloudy or blocked, this test helps us see the structures behind it, especially useful in advanced cataracts or trauma cases.
  • Pachymetry
A quick, painless test to measure corneal thickness, important for glaucoma and LASIK planning.
  • Keratometry & Topography
These measure the shape of your cornea. If you have astigmatism, keratoconus, or are considering LASIK, these tests guide every decision.

Our Approach

These tests aren’t done just to “check a box.” We use them only when needed, and we take time to explain what they mean. If something looks abnormal, we don’t scare you, we walk you through what it means, what the next step is, and how to manage it. No jargon. No guesswork. Just clarity.

What Sets Us Apart

  • We use up-to-date equipment that’s regularly calibrated for accuracy
  • You get your results explained on the same day, no vague delays
  • Every test is handled by trained technicians and reviewed by senior doctors
  • Reports are saved for long-term tracking, so we always have a reference point
  • We never do unnecessary testing,  only what’s meaningful for your care
If you’ve ever felt like you’re being told what’s wrong without really being shown, these investigations change that. They help us see what your eyes are trying to say. At Pannu Eye Hospital, we believe better testing leads to better decisions and that means better outcomes for you.
